When a membership is due for renewal, the Membership Chair will notify the member via mail. Members wishing to renew will follow the renewal instructions included with the Society mailing. This will most likely entail writing a renewal check and returning the check, and the notification, to the Society
There is an alternative way to renew your membership - through the Society web site. In the link specified for the Company Store, a member desiring to renew his/her membership should go to the Company Store link from our Home Page and, in the left frame, scroll down until the heading "Membership Payments and Cash Donations" can be seen. Click on that link and you will be taken to a screen that displays all of the categories of membership and the fee to be submitted for each category. Chose your category and click the Add button on the right until the number 1 is shown in the quantity. Proceed to the Shopping Cart, then process your shopping cart as per the directions provided
Members desiring to renew their membership via web processing may also take advantage of the Store items offered for sale and may purchase items at the same time that a membership is being renewed
The B&O Railroad Historical Society maintains an archive of historical documents, images and artifacts related to the B&O Railroad. These items have been used by authors, researchers and members to help educate people about the history of the B&O Railroad. Our collection is ever growing as new books are written and new collections of images and documents are made available for acquisition. You can help us preserve, protect and share these items by making a donation to our Archives Acquisition Budget. This deduction is 100% tax-deductible and you can see the immediate results of your donation with every issue of The Sentinel you read, every new reprint that comes out via the company store, every convention book and every calendar that comes out each year. Your donation from $20 and up will help ensure that the history of the B&O Railroad and the work that thousands of people did to keep it running is never lost to history Donations are always appreciated. To make a donation through our Society web site, from the Society web Home Page, go the Company Store. In the left frame, scroll down until the heading "Membership Payments and Cash Donations" can be seen. Click on that link and you will be taken to a screen that displays all of the categories of membership and at the bottom of the list, a block that will permit someone to make a donation to the Society. Donations are received in increments of $20.00. Click the Add button on the right for each increment of $20.00 you wish to donate. If you desire to donate $60.00, click the Add button 3 times. After you complete your donation, proceed to the Shopping Cart, then process your shopping cart as per the directions provided
All contributors will be sent an acknowledgement letter by the Society that can be used for tax purposes. The B&O Railroad Historical Society is a 501 (c) 3 organization for donation purposes
